The Problem
Grouping variant images is a classic old problem on Shopify. Let’s say you have a product with multiple colors and 3-5 images per variant, and you want to display only the images for the selected variant (color). By default, this isn’t possible on Shopify because you can’t assign multiple images to variants. You can attach only a single image to each variant.
Solution 1: Custom coding
If you are a developer, you can solve this problem with custom code, but it is important to write code in a way that makes it easy to upgrade your theme later. It is very common for store owners to make modifications to their theme code, only to find later that they can’t upgrade their theme without losing those changes.
Solution 2: Variant Images App
