You have separate Shopify products for each color, material, or style. You want customers to switch between them like variants. Shopify does not do this natively (unless you are on Shopify Plus). You need an app.

The problem is that there are dozens of apps in the Shopify App Store that claim to do this, and they all use slightly different names: combined listings, linked variants, color swatches, product groups, variant options. Finding the right one means opening 30 tabs and comparing them one by one.
This page lists every app that connects separate Shopify products with a visual selector. Each entry includes the developer name and a direct link to the App Store listing. Bookmark it and come back when you are ready to decide.

How to choose
With 28 apps on this list, narrowing down can feel overwhelming. Here are a few things to consider:
Start with a free plan. Most apps on this list offer a free tier or a free trial. Install one, set up a test group with 2-3 products, and see how the swatches look on your theme before committing to a paid plan.
Check theme compatibility. Some apps work better with specific themes. Look for apps that explicitly list your theme as supported, or that have a built-in theme detection system.
Read recent reviews. An app with a 5.0 rating from 3 reviews tells a different story than one with 4.9 from 1,400 reviews. Look at what reviewers say about setup ease, support responsiveness, and how swatches actually look on a live store.
Think about scale. If you have 10 product groups, almost any app will work. If you have 500, you need bulk grouping or automation features. Check whether the app can detect and create groups automatically based on product titles, tags, or metafields.
This list will be updated as new apps launch and existing ones change their pricing or features.
